• All solar systems are exempt from state sales tax and all materials used to manufacture, install or construct solar energy systems.
  
• In Iowa, the market value added to a property by a solar system is exempt from the state's property tax for five full assessment years.
  
• There is a 30% Federal tax credit for solar hot water and solar electric systems.
